In June 2026, consumer prices rose 3.2 percent year on year, up slightly from 3.1 percent in May, as prices of agricultural, livestock, and fishery products increased at a faster pace and elevated oil prices
persisted.
Core inflation, which better reflects underlying price trends by excluding volatile food and energy prices, rose by 2.5 percent year on year in June (2.5 percent in May). The CPI for living necessities, which consists of items that account for a large share of household spending, increased by 3.4 percent year on year (3.3 percent in May).
The price ceiling on petroleum products reduced June’s consumer price inflation by an estimated 0.4 percentage points. Without this measure, consumer prices in June are estimated to have risen by 3.6 percent year on year.

The government will make every effort across all ministries to keep inflation below 3 percent in the second half of the year by swiftly implementing the “measures to stabilize consumer prices and ease the burden on households,” announced on June 26, and strengthening on-site inspections.
